Bromley Football Club have confirmed that a Reserve team will be in place for the forthcoming season and have appointed Keith Bird as manager.
Keith, who is currently completing his UEFA B coaching license, will be assisted by Mike Paye. Keith & Mike are both ex players themselves and Mike was a former professional at Charlton Athletic. Keith & Mike have worked together as a management team for eight years and last year managed Bromley’s U18 Kent League Central squad.
The duo will be joined on the Reserves management team by Ray Parker as Reserve Team Secretary. Ray is highly respected both inside the club and externally and started working with Keith & Mike last season and has been involved with the Bromley Youth Section for many years.
When asked about his appointment as Reserve Team Manager Keith said, “Mike, Ray and I are delighted by this appointment. We work very well as a team and are delighted to serve the club in building a Reserve team set up that Bromley FC can be proud of. Our intention is to play at the most competitive Reserve football possible. Our prime purpose is to produce players capable of progressing onto the First Team as well as offering a place to First Team players coming back from injury or trying to break into a regular starting position in the First Team.”
Keith further added, “The club have an exciting future ahead and I am thrilled that Mark & Jerry have asked us to play our part in helping Bromley Football Club achieve its full potential.”
Local company IQ Comms will proudly be sponsoring the Reserve team for the 2012/13 season and will have a large visual presence around the stadium as well as being on the front of the Reserve team shirts and the back of the First team shirts. IQ Comms previously sponsored the Under 18’s last season.
Head of Club Development, Jeff Hutton, said, “We are delighted to have a Reserve team in place for the new season, playing in such a competitive competition such as the Suburban League. Keith and Mike done a superb job with the under 18’s last season and Ray has been involved with the Club for a long time. Together Keith, Mike and Ray will deliver a professional Reserve team set up that will benefit both the Academy and First Team.”
Jeff added, “A massive thanks has to go to Mark Linscott and IQ Comms for their support of the under 18’s last season and the Reserves this year, their continued support is greatly appreciated by everyone at the Club.”
